Finally the time came for colored cards. The place grew more crowded. The totem still there. Descriptive text explains that many additional attractions have been added through the years:
The Wall Drug Store, at Wall, South Dakota. This business was started by Ted and Dorothy Hustead in 1931. Ted and Dorothy still operate the business with the help of their pharmacist son, Bill. Some of the free attractions for the tourists are the life size animated Cowboy Orchestra, the life size, animated, Chuck Wagon Quartette, the bucking horse, covered wagon, 6 foot rabbit, stuffed and buffalo, stuffed.

In the 80's there is nothing written anymore about stuffed 6 foot rabbits, buffalos and other weird attractions - ice water is what customers want! The totem has vanished, too.
Finally Dorothy Hustead passed away in 1995, followed by her husband Ted in 1999. His son Bill unfortunately died in the same year, too, having been 72 years old. Their heritage is a model how simple ideas and efficient advertising can make a business prosper. - Today Hustead's family members own the Wall Drug business.
WALL DRUG STORE
Wall, South Dakota
Established in 1931, little did the Hustead family know that Wall Drug would eventually become the world's most famous drug store offering free ice water to thousands of tourists daily, where coffee is still five cents and all kinds of free attractions are there for their enjoyment.
